We are a design studio driven by purpose, clarity, and craft. Specialising in creative direction, branding, and graphic design, we help brands find their voice and express it with confidence, purpose, and style. Our approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that meaningful design feels as intuitive as it is impactful.
In 2019, we were commissioned by the Prime Minister’s Office to design the identity for the Singapore Bicentennial. Two years later, Campaign Brief Asia named us one of Singapore’s top twelve standout agencies.
Principal
Jonathan Yuen is a graphic designer and design educator with over two decades of experience in the creative industry.
He is the founder and creative director of Roots, an independent design studio based in Singapore, recognised for its work in branding, strategy, packaging, publications, exhibitions, and digital design.
At Roots, Jonathan leads the studio’s creative vision—shaping a design philosophy grounded in clarity, thoughtfulness, and restraint. His approach blends conceptual thinking with refined craft, resulting in work that is both visually distinctive and meaningfully aligned with each client’s purpose.
